In an update for community members, the Band Council outlined how the Emergency Measures Committee met yesterday and announced the extension Wednesday afternoon, with some additional notes now available for the community in the area of community isolations.
Susan Dennis, Community Health Rep will be monitoring those that need to isolate. She will be giving directions for isolation, families will be responsible for checking in on their family members, if there is a concern as for symptoms they are to contact the clinic immediately. It is the responsibility for the community member to have their own food or their family to provide meals and bedding. Internet is provided however, the router for WIFI is not.The full list of measures in place and other guidelines for the community can be reviewed here.
Lax Kw'alaams has been on community lockdown for much of the last month, that following the first surge of reports from Prince Rupert from the middle of January.

As we outlined last night, the BC CDC released its more recent review of data on the level of positive cases reported in Prince Rupert, with 37 cases reported for the period of January 31 to February 6.
