Acropolis Manor now home for sole Long Term Care facility COVID-19 outbreak in Northern BC

Prince Rupert's Acropolis Manor, the city's long term care facility is now the only such facility in Northern BC to be in the midst of an outbreak of COVID-19, with Northern Health having shared word last week that it had declared an outbreak at Prince George's Jubilee Lodge as over.

The advisory from November 11th noted that at its end, there had been 48 confirmed resident cases of the coronavirus and 14 staff cases, as well as the tragic new of 17 residents of the Prince George home having died in association with the outbreak.

The Health Authority last provided an official update on the situation at Acropolis Manor since February 9th, their information bulletin of that time noting of the sad news of twelve residents having passed away from COVID-19 while 31 residents and 20 staff members had tested positive for the virus.

In a weekend posting to social media and the Northern Health Prince Rupert Facebook page, the Health authority notes that thankfully no further residents have passed away from the virus, though the number of residents and staff now listed as having tested positive has changed.

As of February 13th the new totals are 33 residents and 23 staff members reported as testing positive for the coronavirus.
