Prince Rupert City Council members will be asked to sign on to an initiative from Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach tonight, with the MP providing a letter fo the council members to sign, part of his ongoing work on the Air Canada Service suspension into Prince Rupert.
The letter notes of the importance of schedule air service for the community and urges action both on the suspension of flight service and for support for regional airports, nothin how the financial viability of smaller airports, including that of Prince Rupert's has been undermined.
A letter for Prince Rupert City Council to consider on the suspense Air Canada Service is available on the Council Agenda for tonights Session |
Last week the MP raised the issue of support for airlines, as well as how the suspension of service has impacted on Prince Rupert with the Prime Minister in the House of Commons.
Some success has been found when it comes to reversing the decisions by the struggling airlines, as we outlined last week, Central Mountain Air reversed its suspended service to Fort Nelson, saluting the work of all the partners at the Federal, provincial and local level in finding a solution.
