Northern Health expands on patient information program with HealtheLife

Northern Health has introduced a new online patient resource to allow Northern BC residents opportunity to view hospital based health information, including upcoming appointments, lab tests, imagining results and COVID-19 results from their computer or mobile devices.

The Program called HealtheLife was introduced this week and is an optional feature for those who call on the services of Northern Health.

While it is a convenient addition to the health care information program, Northern Health officials still note that patients will still wish to consult with their health care provider for advice and interpretation of the information that they may be accessing.

“This is the result of years of collaboration focused on improving coordinated and accessible services to patients and their families all over the North. Empowering people to access their own health information through secure patient portals is a growing trend across the province.” -- Bjorn Butow, Northern Health’s director, clinical information systems.

The new system was put to the test by Northern Health Staff members, with over 430 NH employees across Northern British Columbia signing up to put the program to use and report back on how the experience went.

The new health information program comes following the launch of Northern Health Check In service, which  is also an online and mobile device based program that allows Northern Health service users to access appointments at health facilities across the NHA region.
