Rail line renewal ahead for Ridley Island infrastructure

Some of the rail infrastructure on Ridley Island will be 
replaced this Spring, with the PRPA putting the replacement
project out for bid this week

1,200 track feet of rail, along with ties and ballast are up for replacement this spring, part of a renewal plan for rail infrastructure on Ridley Island, with the Prince Rupert Port Authority putting the work up for bid on Tuesday with a call for proposals issued through the BC Bid website.

The key elements of the project note of the volume of work required beyond just the replacement of the rail lines.

The timeline for the project runs Selection of the Preferred proponent on February 20th to the deadline for substantial completion of May 31st, the entire project is to be wrapped up by June 28th


The Port also notes of advantages for proponents to ensure that First Nation employment is part of their proposal; the deadline for submitting Bids has been set for Noon on January 31st
