Heads up for Utility Bills and Snow clearing plans among themes for January update from Port Edward

Residents of Port Edward are heading into 2024 with a few reminders to review from Mayor Knut Bjorndal and the members of the District Council, with their January newsletter providing some seasonal notes of interest.

The first a reminder that the District's Utility Bills will soon be arriving, the second providing an update on the Snow removal and Garbage collection program in Port Edward.

The New year's greeting also provide a short overview of some the Council's work in December.

It also provided a recap of some of the infrastructure work that the District took on over the last year.

The District Council hosted their first public session earlier this week and as they note in their newsletter, 2024 will bring forward a few initiatives along the way

Among them an upgrade for the District's Fire Hall, with work to begin this month, providing for some long delayed maintenance on the facility.

As well the Council members will be looking to bring new residential units to the community, though they note of the challenges of high interest rates and increased building materials and the cost of labour as areas of concern towards those plans.

The full Newsletter can be reviewed here.
