CN Rail has some track expansion plans up for consideration as part of a Transport Canada review process; with the focus for their proposed work a stretch of Prince Rupert waterfront from the BC Ferries Terminal to the Pinnacle Pellet Terminal.

A portion of the work that is planned will be taking place below the bluffs that make for the residential area along Graham Avenue on the city's west side.
