The Town of Smithers is flying their flags at half mast in remembrance of former Councillor Harry Kruisselbrink |
Two key political figures in Northwest BC have paid tribute to a former Smithers Councillor this week, with both MP Taylor Bachrach and MLA and Municipal Affairs Minister Nathan Cullen making note and paying their respects at the passing of Harry Kruisselbrink.
Mr. Bachrach saluted the community minded member of Smithers Council from the seventies, providing a few thoughts on his moments with Mr. Kruisselbrink through his Facebook feed on Tuesday.
Mr. Cullen took advantage of his time in the Legislature on Wednesday to share his own memories with the Chamber recalling some of what made the former council member an important part of Bukley Valley life.
They both have been joined by Smithers Mayor Gladys Attril who offered her own condolences earlier this week as word spread out across the region.
In recognition of his passing, the Smithers Town Council has lowered the flags at their Town Hall.
The media in the Bulkley Valley has provided a few snapshots and memories of the Councillor and his times.
