Whether residents of Lax Kw'alaams want to have a constitution as part of their nation building efforts is the theme of a survey currently underway for members of the community.
A notice posted to the Lax Kw'alaams website and Social media stream has outlined the background towards the consultation with the Band Council seeking the contribution of members and tribes about whether there is a desire for a formal constitution and how the membership may move away from the Indian Act.
Members of Lax Kw'alaams can access the Constitutional Development Survey page here.
Those members who participate could win one of four gifts being offered as part of the consultation process.
Those include
$300.00 Gift Card
• $200.00 Gift Card
• $100.00 Gift Card
• Smart Phone
The call for consideration of a Constitution has already sparked some debate through the Social media forum.
