Those residents of the North Coast who take advantage of the volume of flights offered out of Terrace-Kitimat's Northwest Regional Airport may see some new improvements to the terminal in the months to come.

Officials at the Airport on the southern outskirts of Terrace have submitted three RFP's for a range of projects for the airport, including a call for submissions for a baggage belt replacement for the facility.

In late March, the Terrace-Kitimat Airport had posted a call for Bids for the design, supply and installation of a hydraulic fire suppression system, in the east portion of the Air Terminal Building.

You can review the details for all three projects from the BC Bid website here.

The Northwest Regional Airport is anticipating a boost in travel numbers this spring and summer as more and more residents of the region begin to travel once again, something which could bring more flight options out of what has become the Northwest air hub airport as the months move forward.
