Lax Kw'alaams Harbour entrance dredging work set for Mid January start

The Lax Kw'alaams Band Council has issued an advisory for harbour users in the community, making note of the start date for dredging activity planned for the Harbour entrance later this month.

The work, which is expected to last for a bit less than a month will get underway  on January 18th.

As part of the safety protocols in place for the work, Lax Kw'alaams Officials have outlined some key communication information for mariners in the community and surrounding region.

We provided a preview of the work ahead in December, including the plan to have an environmental monitor in place to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.

During the dredging operation officials plan to allow for one way traffic in and out of the Harbour for the course of the one month project.

You can find updates on the project as it moves forward through the Lax Kw'alaams Facebook page.
