City staff report provides answers to Council questions on land sale adjacent Digby Tower

The roadway adjacent to the Digby Tower could soon be
sold and repurposed into a parking area for the complex

City staff have followed up on a request for more information related to a proposed sale of land adjacent to the Digby Tower, the request for the report coming from the last Council session.

At the February 21st session, the owner of the nearby motor hotel and a delegation supporting her appeared at the Council meeting to speak to their concerns over just what was for sale and if there would be any impact on the motor hotel property.

In the follow up discussion on a related bylaw, Council members requested a report from staff towards a range of questions towards the property to be sold.

That report authored by Richard Pucci, comes up for their review tonight as part of the Consent Agenda for tonight's council session scheduled for 7 PM.

Council members can choose to discuss it at that time, or file it for future reference.

The property was put up for Disposition in late January by way of a public notice.

It will help to inform their decision for a Bylaw vote later this evening, the Road Decication Bylaw is up for third reading as part of the session tonight.

The report includes a number of maps that show the current status of the land and the status of it once the transaction will be completed.
