One budget complete, BC Government seeks your opinion towards planning for the 2024 document

While they continue to distribute the cash from this year's financial plans, the BC Government is already finalizing arrangements to hear from the public as to what concerns should shape the 2024 budget.

The annual Budget Consultation process is set to get underway, with the registration period to speak at public meeting coming up on March 30th.

The engagement process is hosted by the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services.

Review this form, if you wish to participate  and make a presentation, whether in person or by video conference  to one of the sessions to take place in late May and early June.

Though they do advise that submitting a form does not confirm or guarantee that you will be allowed a spot, depending on the interest show towards the engagement process.

Deadline to apply is 2 PM on March 30th.

Eleven communities will see the Legislature group come to town, the closest that the Committee will get to Prince Rupert for their consultation tour is from plans for a session in Kitimat, the date of which has still to be set.

Later in May, those with thoughts on the Budget process will also have opportunity to submit them in writing, that when the Committee expands on their call for comment.

Updates on how the process will work can be found from the BC Budget website page, which also has links to Social media streams for additional background.

More notes on themes from the Legislature can be reviewed here.
