City Council to host Special Committee of the Whole Session Thursday on theme of City's Transportation plan

The path forward for the City of Prince Rupert Master Transportation plan will be the topic of a special Committee of the Whole Session, scheduled for Tomorrow at 3:30 PM in Council Chambers.

The advisory towards the meeting was posted by the City today to both the city website and social media stream, noting that the city's consultants from Urban Systems will be in attendance to share information related to the plan.

The City put the project out for Bid in March of 2022, the scope of what they were looking for from the successful bidder can be reviewed here.

The work on the Master Transportation Plan was listed as one of City Council's Strategic Planning goals published at the end of January.

In September of 2022, the City provided an update on their progress towards the Transportation plan, which has been part of their Rupert Talks engagement program.

More on that update, along with some additional background on the elements of the plan can be examined here.

Tomorrow's Session at City Hall is an open meeting, so residents who may have an interest can hear firsthand what the consultants may have to share towards their update on the progress of their work.
