City Council will host a Public Hearing at 6PM this evening to assess the proposal from property owner in the Sloan and McKay area to consolidate lots and allow the zoning to chance from Two Family Residential to Multiple Family Residential use.

The property is located on the west side of McKay at Sloan and the proponent would like to seek the rezoning to allow for the existing residential building to be used for four dwellings.

Should anyone have any concerns related to the proposed re-zoning, they are to contact the Administration Department of City Hall with comments whether opposed or in support by Noon today.

Address your correspondences to rosamaria.miller@princerupert.ca

Owing to COVID the public Hearing is Closed to the Public, with the City advisory as follows:

"In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure social distancing, in person attendance at this meeting is closed to the public. We strongly encourage residents to submit their support or opposition in writing to Administration Department, City Hall, 424 3rd Avenue West, Prince Rupert BC"

Participation can take place by Zoom link which you can find through the notice from the City website.

Following the Public Hearing, the topic will return to Council later in the evening as part of their Regular Council session, when the Council members will decide whether to approve the request and allow for the Zoning change and consolidation of lots.
