As the deadline for registrations for membership in the BC Liberal party and a vote in the open leadership competition gets closer, Skeena MLA Ellis Ross has gained another supporter for his quest for the BC Liberal top job.

On Friday, Dan Davies, the Peace River North BC Liberal MLA threw his support behind the Ross campaign, speaking towards his enthusiasm for the Ross campaign and how the candidate from Skeena has an understanding of the Northeast and the Peace Region.

As was noted in the presentation from the Peace, the Ross campaign has found a receptive audience in many of the resource based communities of the province, with forestry, oil and gas development and the challenges for rural communities among the frequent themes for the Liberal contenders speeches seeking support for his campaign.

The six candidates in the race are making for a major push into December as the deadline to gather memberships comes to an end, with just over one month remaining until the deadline to sign up new members who will be able to cast a vote in the leadership vote.

Last week was a pretty good week for the Skeena MLA in collecting supporters from the Liberal caucus, in addition to MLA Davies, Kootenay East MLA Tom Shypitka also threw his support behind the campaign, signing on with the Ross team on November 8th.

More notes on the campaign can be found from our archive page here.
