High patient volumes at PRRH bring advisory from Northern Health

Prince Rupert and area residents heading to the Emergency Department today may find that the wait is longer than usual, with Northern Health issuing an advisory this morning towards the ongoing strain of resources at the Prince Rupert Hospital.

The Advisory of today which calls on those requiring less urgent care to use their primary care office or Northern Health's Virtual Community Care program to help alleviate the situation at the Emergency Department.

The advisory was issued through Northern Health's dedicated Facebook Page in Prince Rupert.

As we noted last week, local health services have bene feeling some strains in recent weeks, with Health Minister Adrian Dix noting in an information session last week that the Prince Rupert hospital had redeployed staff from the Operating room towards care in the Emergency Department.
