An information sharing session which has been delayed a few times and finally tonight it seems, one that is ready for prime time; with Prince Rupert City Council set to host a delegation from Northern Health to discuss health issues and concerns in the community.
The presentation had been previously scheduled for the October 25h session but had asked for some additional time towards more information for their appearance.
The presentation set for the 7 PM Council session comes following a request of Councillor Barry Cunningham to have members of the Health Authority come to the Council session to speak to concerns on health care, with City Councillors issuing a call for questions from the public in October.
Hopefully, once the presentation is delivered and the Council members relay their questions from the public, we may learn of the fate of the long proposed Health Advisory Committee that has been the subject of frequent mentions in past Council sessions over the last few years, reintroduced by Councillor Cunningham in March of this year.
Those with an interest in Health Care in the region can take in this evening's presentation through the City of Prince Rupert Video feed of tonight's Council Session starting at 7PM.
It's a timely moment for an update with the Hospital advising of higher volumes of patient use at the Prince Rupert Emergency department today and outlining options for those with health concerns of a less urgent need.
