Heavy rain brings impact to city's water delivery to community taps

The City of Prince Rupert has provided a notification for residents related to this weekend's extensive rainfall and an impact on the city's tap water, advising that residents may notice a slightly darker than normal colour as a result of the large volume of precipitation.

The City also observes that there is No Water Quality Advisory in effect at this time and that the water is continuously monitored for quality at local testing stations.

As we noted earlier this evening the weather has made for a few challenges ; as of 5PM Prince Rupert had received over 130 mm of rain since Friday morning, with another 30 mm expected before a break in the weather systems on Sunday.

Any updates on the city's water supply can be found through the City's Facebook page.

So far no advisories have been shared through the city website or mobile app feature.
