In the advisory the City notes that the anticipated date for the resumption of services at the Aquatic Centre will be Monday, September 14th, though there will be some changes in place for those who use the Centre.
Pre-registration will be required so the city can control physical distancing measures, with the registration period to open on Tuesday, September 8th.
As well, poor users will have to take note of the following:
There will be no access to change rooms on the way into the pool.
Patrons should come ready to swim.
Lifejackets will be provided upon request only.
All other equipment must be supplied by patrons and cannot be shared. Permitted equipment – kickboards, flippers, puddle jumpers, goggles, small personal toys, water wings.
Not permitted in the pool – snorkels, balls, large floats.
In addition to the new pool rules, the city advises that the water fountain will remain closed and the sauna and steam room will not be reopening in Mid-September, with no indication as to when those options will resume.
They also have noted through Social Media that No Swim lessons have been planned for the relaunch period.
Included in today's announcement is the new schedule for the facility, which features a range of times for selected days of the week.
