Council members continue on with their summer schedule of reduced public meetings, with the only session for August scheduled for 7 PM tonight.
The work this evening includes three reports from the Chief Financial Officer, which includes the 2019 Statement of Financial Information, that document features the salaries and expenses paid to elected officials and civic employees.
Ms. Bomben will also outline the Financial variance report from June, as well as a report outlining a grant opportunity towards Asset Management.
Council members will also review a range of variance reports from the City Manager, as well as a report from Mr. Long related to a request from the Prince Rupert Port Authority for a temporary use of land on Park Avenue.
Tonight will also feature a review of how the City of Prince Rupert has adjusted their re-opening policies in these times of COVID.
As it is the only meeting for the month, it is also Committee of the Whole evening, which offers the opportunity for public comment.
Council has modified how the Committee of the Whole community engagement process will look during this period of pandemic and recovery.
With limited public attendance in place for the Council Session, those with questions, concerns or comments for tonight's gathering can also submit them to Corporate Administrator Rosa Miller in writing or, by way of telephone message for relay at tonight's meeting.
How to access Ms. Miller to make your contribution is explained here.
Those with an interest in tonight's council session can view the Live Feed from the City website. or on Cable Television from CityWest Cable Channel 10/310.
Council members will also continue to make use of the Closed Council process this evening, as they meet tonight in a Special Closed Session at 5PM citing two items from the Community Charter as the reason to exclude the public.
