Jennifer Rice has offered her congratulations to the graduates of Coast Mountain College, with the MLA for the North Coast sharing some video, photos and comments through her social media platforms today, taking note of the first ever convocation to be held for the newly renamed educational institution in the Northwest.
Ms. Rice, herself a former student at the Prince Rupert campus of the then Northwest Community College, was part of the official party for Tuesday's convocation ceremony, providing for the key note address to the graduates and those assembled in the Library.
The North Coast MLA was a student of the college's Coastal Ecology program prior to her days as a municipal and then a provincial politician, and often makes mention of her days at the former NWCC.
Included as part of the MLA's review of the day, was some video of the convocation and the impressive drumming from the Students of Conrad Elementary School who participated in Tuesday's event.
As we outlined on Tuesday, the Prince Rupert campus convocation was the first of three for Coast Mountain College this week, today students at the other regional campus of Smithers are taking part in their convocation ceremony.
Tomorrow, the main campus of Terrace will celebrate the wrap up to this phase for student study, with the major convocation for the Northwest to take place at the REM Lee theatre on Thursday afternoon.
