Ombudsperson of BC tour of Northwest/Haida Gwaii set for end of August


The Office of the Ombudsperson of British Columbia is heading to the Northwest and Haida Gwaii at the end of the month, offering residents of the region an opportunity for a confidential consultation should they have concerns or complaints with a range of provincial services.

Ombudsperson Jay Chalke and his staff will start their tour of the area on August 28th, among their stops while visiting in the region will be Daajing Gids, Masset, Terrace and Prince Rupert.

Mr. Chalke's  office has provided a guideline to the areas where the Ombudsperson's office can be of assistance, as well as those areas which are out of their scope of service to the province.

Should your concerns match up with those that they do provide service towards, you can call the office to book an appointment at 1-800-567-FAIR (3247). 

You can have an Elder or support person present if you wish when you come for your appointment.

In person Appointments are free and confidential.

If you can't meet them on this current tour, you  can still call them anytime and make a complaint online for further follow up on.
