Busy period of meetings for members of Lax Kw'alaams Band


The next four days are going to make for a busy period for the residents of Lax Kw'alaams and members of the North Coast First Nation Band, with a range of meetings and events set to take place starting on Thursday.

The Opening event come up tomorrow with an information session on Truth and Reconciliation projects set to take place at the Lax Kw'alaams Fire Hall, the days program starts at Noon hour.


Friday brings two more gatherings to the community, a meeting of the Allied Tribes of Lax Kw'alaams that will take place at the Elder Lodge of the Lax Kw'alaams Recreation Centre from 10 AM to 4 PM

The second event on Friday is the Amlahaw Appreciation Dinner and Celebration. That event is being held at the School foyer at Lax Kw’alaams Wap Suwilaawksa from 5 to 8 PM.

Saturday brings the first of Two Community Forums, with the Lax Kw'alaams session taking place from 9:30AM to 4PM again in the School foyer at Lax Kw’alaams Wap Suwilaawksa.

Sunday brings the final session of the Community Forums to Prince Rupert, taking place at the Lax Kw'alaams Community Hall at 824 3rd Avenue West.

The two Community forums will provide an update for Members on the progress towards Lax Kw'alaams Constitutional development.


Lax Kw'alaams residents and members can keep up to date on any potential changes to the events of the next four days through the Band's Social Media Stream.
