The Sixth Avenue East Bridge over Hays Creek and a similar structure on Second Avenue West at Morse Creek are both up for repairs this fall as the City launches its call for Bids process |
The City of Prince Rupert may be focused on the civic water infrastructure that is below ground these days, but some work above the ground is also on the horizon, with the city posting a call for Bids towards work on two of the city's key bridge connections in the community.
An RFP with the BC Bid site in July outlined the scope of the work ahead for both the Sixth Avenue East Bridge and that of the Morse Creek Bridge on the city's west side, with some significant work of remediation ahead for both structures.
The timeline ahead for the work will see a Project award announced on August 18th, with the two deadlines for completion of work as follows:
Hays Creek (6th Ave East) Superstructure Repairs Completed October 15, 2023
Morse Creek (2nd Ave West) Repairs completed December 1, 2023
The full overview of what the City is looking for towards the twin bridge projects can be reviewed from the BC Bid website
