The Foundation website outlines how there is no Tier 3 hospital the Northwest Region, with mothers and infants in need of emergent care having to be medevaced to either Prince George or Vancouver.
Their notes on the fundraising project outlines how having care closer to home means mothers and babies will be surrounded by the people they need and their families less burdened by the financial and emotional costs of travel and long-term stays in unfamiliar settings!
You can review their 2023 fundraising project here, as well as check out the success from past fundraising from the Foundation.
