A shout out for Prince Rupert Regional Hospital and some notes on the recent visit to the North Coast by Premier David Eby made for some comments in the Legislature last week by North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice.
Ms. Rice used her time in Statements on Thursday for the tribute to Mr. Eby's journey north, the MLA noting of the many departments that the Premier had time to visit while at PRRH, as well as her own recent experience with the care from the Summit Avenue Hospital in Prince Rupert.

Among the stops that Ms. Rice called attention towards included: Emergency Department, various labs and service areas, kitchen staff, cleaning staff, Indigenous liaison worker, as well as his discussions with health officials at the facility.
The MLA also noting of the challenges to infrastructure at the hospital and some of the new equipment that is now in place at the Hospital.
The MLA while speaking with much enthusiasm on the Premier's time in Prince Rupert, did bury the lede as the newspaper business would say; actually, when we think about it ... it wasn't so much burying it, but to skip over it completely.
As part of his tour, in addition to the tour of the hospital the Premier was to take part in a fundraising event for the North Coast Constituency and to meet with some local officials.
One of those meetings, came on March 17th, when he announced funding of 65 million dollars for the city's water infrastructure issues, the celebration of the provincial funding coming as part of an event at the Museum of Northern British Columbia.
So caught up in her themes of health care, the speaking time for statements came to a conclusion before she could recount any of the Premier's other stops during his time in the city.
