An opportunity to comment, or just learn more about a proposed LNG Terminal project in the Nass Valley is coming next month to both Terrace and Prince Rupert.
British Columbia's Environmental Assessment Office is hosting the two in-person Open House sessions where residents can learn more about the project and tell the EAO the areas that are important when it comes to the development.
The Prince Rupert session takes place May 4th at the Crest Hotel from 6 to 8 PM, the Terrace session takes place the day before on May 3rd at the Best Western Hotel from 6 to 8PM.
The EAO will also host an Online Virtual Information Session on May 10th from noon to 2PM, to participate in that session register here.
To participate in the Online EAO process visit the KSI Lisims LNG page on the EAO website here.
The comment period is set to open on April 27th and run until May 29
The 10 Billion dollar Nisga'a Nation led project on the Portland Canal at Wil Milit is described as one that will be:
"designed to be the largest net-zero LNG export facility in the world. Once operational, Ksi Lisims LNG will produce 12 million tonnes of LNG per year. It is expected to create thousands of jobs within B.C., and provide substantial financial benefits to the Nisga’a Nation as well as to neighbouring Indigenous nations."
As we noted last month, the move to the Environmental Process was announced on March 16, the Federal Impact Assessment Agency of Canada approved the substitution for the BC process of evaluation on April 6th.
Some background on the proposed development of a floating natural gas liquefaction facility and Marine Terminal can be reviewed from the KSI Lismis project page.
More items of note on the development is available through our archive page.
