Skeena Bulkley Valley MP calls for full investigation into Coastal GasLink incident to hold those responsible accountable


Skeena Bulkley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach has expressed his support for those who were impacted by the recent incident which took place at the Coastal GasLink work camp near Houston, which saw significant property damage to the camp, trauma for the workers on site and one injury to an RCMP officer reported.

The MP made use of his time on Saturday during the debate over the Emergencies Act to make for a short acknowledgement of the events near Houston last week.

The MP's comments came at the opening of his presentation to the Commons

Towards that Mr. Bacharach stated.

"I send out my thoughts to the people of the Bulkley Valley, who have been shocked at the recent violence and vandalism at a worksite on the Martin Forest River Service Road, my thoughts go out specifically to the workers of that worksite who have been traumatized and to the officer who was injured. I denounce these acts and I join my constituents in demanding a full and thorough investigation one that holds those responsible accountable"

The MP's comments came at the opening of his presentation to the Commons


The RCMP continue to investigate the incident, with over 40 personnel assigned to the investigation.

On Tuesday as part of their update on their efforts, the RCMP released some video from the incident of February 17th.
