Port Edward puts forward Bid Request for Firehall renovations

Repair work is on the horizon for the Port Edward Firehall

Firefighters in the District of Port Edward will have soon be welcoming more dry conditions to work around in at their fire hall. in the weeks to come, with District officials putting forward a Request for Proposals for some renovation work for the Sunset Drive facility.

In their prospectus for potential contractors, the District outlines some of the work ahead for the successful applicant:

The Port Edward Fire Hall currently has water ingress issues and primarily needs perimeter drainage installed. 

The following summary of the scope of work is provided as a general reference only. 

Contractor to review all drawings, detail drawings and specifications for complete project requirements. 

For the repairs to Port Edwards Fire Hall allow for the following:  

Possible inspection of foundation (if required)  
Stairs removed from both sides of building and reinstallation 
Demolishing concrete pads 
Perimeter drainage system installation 
Foundation power washed, dried and membrane installed 
Membrane covered with protection board
Remove and replace decayed wood floor built over top of basement concrete slab

The deadline for submission of bids is August 27th, with a start date for the work to take place no later than September 13th.

The construction completion target is the end of October
