Deadline day at City Hall for many recent notices

as a number of recent notices reach deadline day

When they turn out the lights and head off to the weekend after 4:30 today, the staff at City Hall will be putting the wrap on a number of recent notices for the public, with a range of information sharing exercises and employment opportunities set to reach a deadline.

For those who are looking for a bit more information on the upcoming Public Hearing for the 11th Avenue East housing plans, today is the final day for you to drop in at City Hall to review their documentation towards the proposed project.

The Public Hearing is set for Monday evening at 6 PM at the Lester Centre of the Arts. 

If residents cannot attend that session, they are asked to submit their comments to Rosa Miller the City's Corporate Administrator no later than Noon on Monday August 23.

Also coming to a conclusion today is an opportunity to ask any questions of city staff when it comes to a Public Notice of  earlier this month towards the property leasing plans for the CN Railway building at Rotary Waterfront Park. 

Prince Rupert Mayor Lee Brain outlined the city's vision towards leasing space in a renovated facility to the local Wheelhouse Brewing Company.

Today also marks the deadline for those wishing to respond for the City's Request for proposals for immediate repair work that is required on water infrastructure on Park Avenue near the BC Ferry Terminal.

The timeline between closing date and start of work date is rather tight, with the city expecting that project to be underway by Monday.

The city will stop taking applications for the
City Manager/Chief Administrative Officer position today.
Last month it was announced that Bob Long would be
stepping down from the post at the end of the year

And today marks the final day for Applications for those with an interest in the City Manager/Chief Administrative Officer position. 

In July Mayor Lee Brain announced that Bob Long would be bringing his time in the top civic staff position to a close at the end of this year.

The city launched their search for a replacement in the last week of July, posting the listing through a range of employment service options.

City staff will stop receiving applications for the city's top staff position  as of 5:00 this afternoon.
