In a notice posted to their website, the District has provided the background to their wide ranging document of proposed change for the community
The information relay comes as the District prepares for a Public Hearing on the process later this month.
The introduction to the document provides the thumbnail sketch of some of the elements for review, with one of the more intriguing of the proposals the development the expansion of a town centre area with more commercial and housing options. The desire for a defined downtown district comes out of consultations with residents in recent months.
As well, other areas of note include work on the guidelines towards further industrial areas which will be screened and located in specific areas.
The District also hopes to build on its tourism potential with a focus on backcountry and marine themes.
