Skeena-Bulkley Valley Greens to send Mike Sawyer to the October election as their candidate

Mike Sawyer makes Six
as the Greens select the Smithers
resident as their candidate in the fall vote
With the electioneering starting to heat up in Skeena-Bulkley Valley, the Green Party of Canada has selected Mike Sawyer to carry the Green banner to the campaign through the summer and into this fall.

Mr. Sawyer and Edward Quinlan were the only two candidates in the nomination race and with a month of message making now completed, the nomination was claimed by Sawyer, a resident of the Smithers area.

Confirmation of Mr. Sawyer's successful candidacy was provided in an email today to the North Coast Review, with the advisory coming from Green Party official Ian Soutar.

The candidate will bring a high profile and some current events to the campaign as he looks to get the Green Vote out, that through his involvement in a legal challenge over the Coastal Gas Link prominent in the news recently; though a recent NEB ruling on July 26th did not see things as Mr. Sawyer had, with him now seeking further legal counsel on the issue.

In addition to the Coastal Gas Link issue, he has recently made note of the CEAA public comment period for the proposed Chevron Kitimat LNG project and urged residents of the region to write as many letters as possible to ensure that the project is subject to a Joint Review Panel.

For now he can turn his attention towards the upcoming campaign, as he becomes the sixth declared candidate for the fall vote.

Previous to the Green Party announcement, the NDP, Conservatives, Liberals Christian Heritage and People's Party of Canada had all selected candidates for the fall campaign.
