While Prince Rupert City Council will review their mail tonight related to a proposed cannabis location from High Culture for a Park Avenue location; a second application is making its way through the system, with a property on Third Avenue West the preferred location for a similar retail business to be operated by Hive Cannabis.
A Notice of Retail Application has been posted to the City of Prince Rupert website, advising that the Council of the City of Prince Rupert wishes to determine the views of residents when it comes to the application to Hive Cannabis application to the province's regulatory branch.
The property selected by Hive Cannabis for their proposed retail outlet is the old Kentucky Fried Chicken building in the 800 block of Third West a building which has remained empty for over a decade.
Should they be successful in their application the hours of operation for the Third Avenues outlet for Hive Cannabis would be no longer than 9 AM to 11 PM.
The proposed Hive location falls within the map outline introduced by Prince Rupert City Council back in December.

Those with an interest in providing for commentary for the Hive Cannabis proposal have until February 20th to submit their letter to Corporate Administrator Rory Mandryk.
