Four Northwest Fires of Note as Weekend arrives

Those making travel plans across Northern British Columbia will want to keep an eye on the BC Wildfire Service information streams, as fires dot the map in a number of locations with four of note listed in the Northwest region heading into the weekend.

The four include the Chief Louis Lake Fire which is the largest,  as well as the Camsell Lake Fire, Poplar Mountain Fire and the Bulkley Lake Fire which appears to be the one closest to the Highway 16 travel corridor

This past week was one which saw the BC Wildfire Service receive reports of 144 new fires reported across BC and 26 of the 308 active fires reported over the course off the last 2 days.

With the conditions as they are, the Northwest Fire Centre has prohibitions and Restrictions in place for all areas of the region from Haida Gwaii to Prince George.
