Deadline looms for Port Edward's Search for Manager of Public Works


Those who may be interested in taking on the duties of running the Public Works Department for the District of Port Edward have one more week to forward their resume, with the competition for the Manager's position set to close on July 29th.

The key elements of the search for the right candidate include:

The Manager, Public Works role currently oversees 2 utility operators, 2 maintenance workers, and 2 seasonal groundworkers. The successful candidate will therefore be a driven individual, with excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to effectively manage teams. 

The role requires solid experience running an efficient preventative maintenance program; and operating and maintaining infrastructure. This background will preferably come from a municipal setting, but comparable experience will be considered. 

The position requires regular interaction with the public in a variety of capacities, requiring exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

This is the second go round for the call for applicants, a first posting was submitted in March by the District.

The current posting is from July 2nd and was shared through the CivicInfoBC job search listings.

The staff recruitment campaign is being conducted by Flo Follero-Pugh, Tall Cedars Search and Recruitment.
