Since we're going to be in the neighbourhood anyways ...

There is still no set time announced for when the City of Prince Rupert's summer paving project gets underway, but when it does, C and C Road Maintenance will also be available to take requests!

The Kitimat based company has recently taken out advertisements in the weekly paper to advise residents of Prince Rupert, Port Edwards and area that they will be ready to take on any residential, commercial or industrial jobs that may be up during their stay.

The Kitimat based company was awarded the City of Prince Rupert contract last month, that after the Kitimat bid came in significantly lower than that of locally operated Adventure Paving.

The C and C bid came in at $804,000, which provided for a some significant savings from the Operations budget.  Though the decision to take the work out of town was not a universally accepted one by council, with both Councillor Adey and Cunningham voting against the the contract award.

While C and C looks for some jobs on the side, the Kitimat firm will be addressing a list of at least sixteen locations where the city's crumbling infrastructure requires some blacktop this paving season, you can review those areas here.

More notes on the city's commercial and service sector can be reviewed here, while our archive of Council discussion themes can be explored here.
