One of the many major industrial infrastructure projects related to Port development around Prince Rupert has reached the public comment phase of its review, with CN Rail's Zanardi Bridge project as well as the work on the Causeway and Corridor Connection now up for comment from the public.
The focus of the current review is to determine if the project is likely to cause any significant adverse environmental effect. It's the subject of a review because the project will overlap Federal lands and water administered by the Prince Rupert Port Authority.
As part of the process, authorities are inviting comments from the public related to the Zanardi Bridge plans through the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (formerly CEAA) website.
In a notice posted to the IAAC website it's noted that the input for the project located in Porpoise Harbour is now being solicited until August 24th.
More background on the review of the project can be explored from the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada website.
The Zanardi Bridge project was one of a number of port related infrastructure projects that were highlighted during the Prince Rupert Port Authority's Annual Public meeting which was held in June.
Last year, the Federal government announced funding towards three major infrastructure projects, which included a 60.6 million dollar contribution to the Zanardi Bridge project, accounting for close to half the cost of the 122 million dollar replacement project.
