As the campaigning ends and the Polls Open, all that is left is for your final decision

Voters will be making their way to the Prince Rupert Civic Centre today
with polling stations now open until 8PM for the 2018
Municipal and School District General voting Day

Forty seven days after the nomination period opened for candidates, and more than a month of campaigning has taken place, twelve final hours of voting opportunity will provide the verdict for those who took the time to cast their ballots.

For the eight hopeful City Council candidates and the eleven that have put their names forward for School District all that they can do now is await 8PM when the the results are tabulated and the roster of elected officials for the next four years is revealed.

Today's final voting takes place at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre, with that venue serving as election central as well as Chief Electoral Officer Corinne Bomben oversees the Election Day staff for this final day of the 2018 Municipal campaign.

The City of Prince Rupert has provided this background information related to this years election period.




For those heading to the polling booth today, BC Transit is offering Free Service today, with all routes available for the free service, with the exception of the Port Edward run and the 99 Special.

Once the polls close at 8 PM, Residents of the city can find the election results through the elections.princerupert.ca page that will go live once the results are available.

CityWest subscribers can also access the election results from Channels 10 and 310. As well, if you are in the vicinity of the Civic Centre, the results will be listed on the display options of the Recreation Centre.










District of Port Edward residents will cast their ballots at the District of Port Edward Community Centre, with the results to be made available from that location after the polls close at 8PM.
