Organizers for this weekend's Redesign Rupert Recharge are hoping for a good crowd to check in at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre on Saturday morning, taking advantage of a Pancake breakfast and a chance to win a number of door prizes as they provide some thoughts for the Rebuild Rupert team on the future of the city.
The community engagement session takes place in the Auditorium from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and offers up the chance for residents of the city to share their ideas on what they would like to see for the city, whether it's parks, waterfront access or items that other cities may have in place, that they think might be a good for Prince Rupert.
To help increase community participation on an always hectic Saturday, a number of local businesses have stepped up to offer some potential rewards for those that stop in, among those that have made a donation to the project are:
Cargo Kitchen and Bar, Cow Bay Cafe, Cowpuccino's, Crest Hotel, Homework, Opa Sushi and the City of Prince Rupert Recreation Department.
City representatives will be at the Saturday session and some may even be working the pancake griddle to serve up a light breakfast for those in attendance. Activities for the kids are also planned as part of the three hours of community engagement designed to get more feedback on what the Prince Rupert of the future should look like.
You can find out more about the event from the Redesign Rupert Facebook page.
