Rice celebrates Cow Bay Marina completion and opening

MLA Jennifer Rice was singing the
praises of the new Cow Bay Marina
development at the Legislature
North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice outlined the merits of the latest in tourism attractions on the North Coast, taking some time in the Legislature on Thursday morning to celebrate the completion of the Cow Bay Marina project.

The public dock feature of that new marine infrastructure opened to the public last weekend and was put to use this week as the Royal Canadian Ship HMCS Whitehorse hosted an Open House in the community.

In her short remarks to the Legislature Ms. Rice paid tribute to the City of Prince Rupert, Port of Prince Rupert and John Farrell at Community Futures for "making the dream come to a reality".

She outlined some of the features of the new dock for the Legislature members, noting that the new facility can host up to 51 berths for vessels of up to 70 feet in length, with overflow moorage available for larger yachts.

Adding that the development of the Marina is an "excellent example of developing a diversified economy in local resource communities"

Ms. Rice's testimonial to community achievement can be read from the Legislature minutes of Thursday morning (just after the 1020 mark). while the video of her presentation can found below:
