City Council Preview, Tuesday, February 9, 2016

With the Family Day Holiday of Monday, a new month of Council deliberations shifts to a Tuesday session, with Council members set to address the fairly light list of items from the February 9th Regular Session Agenda.

The Junior City Planner will provide a report on an application for a Development Variance permit for a property on Conrad Street, while the Corporate Administrator will outline the details related to the appointments of a Chief Election Officer and Deputy Chief Election Officer.

The Director  of Recreation and Community Services will deliver her report related to the Recreation Fees and Charges Bylaw.

The Mayor will provide more background on the progress of the Housing Committee and Councillor Mirau brings his proposed Small Business Advisory Council plans back to Council for another look.

The full review of the evening ahead can be found from the Agenda for the Regular Council Session for Tuesday, February 9, 2016.

Prior to the Regular Council session, Council members will conduct a Closed Session of Council for February 9th at 5 PM. At that session they will hold discussions related to  a topic that Council believes requires the exclusion of the public for the following reason:

negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public

Below we'll highlight the different elements of this evenings work from the Regular session Agenda, for further background on each item, the page number from the Agenda is listed in red.
