While they may have already issued the media release and the Mayor has had some time in front of the CFTK TV cameras to explain the project further, the City's plans for the 3rd Avenue Sidewalk rehabilitation program will get one more review at tonight's City Council session.
Council will be receiving a report from the Director of Operations regarding the five year project which as was announced last week has been awarded to Rupert Woodn' Steel Construction.
In a preview of the report to Council from tonight's agenda the goal of the rehabilitation program was outlined, stressing some of the positive aspects of the project that the City is looking for as its objectives.
Notes related to making the community more economically sustainable and contributing to a favourable review of the community by tourism media, travel consultants and Cruise Ship lines among the main talking features of the sidewalk rehabilitation program.

The cost of the project is included in the 2015 Capital Budget, which was approved by Council earlier this year.
