The folks in Port Edward will tell you of many benefits of life out in the District, from the more frequent appearances of the sun to the more relaxed lifestyle that the community offers, but there's one other bonus for putting roots down in Port Ed.
The payment due notices for property taxes give residents an extra month before its time to pay up with their annual tax payment.
While Prince Rupert residents had to deliver their payment with its 12.5 percent increase by July 4th, the date to circle on the calendar in Port Edward is August First.
The District offered up some guidance through their website this month towards what residents need to know as the Tax deadline arrives.

Port Edward residents won't have to dig as deep into their financial reserves to pay up their property taxes bill for 2023, the District set a modest increase of 3 Percent as part of their budget process this past spring.
