After only a few days for the return of shipments out of the ports of British Columbia, transits of many goods have once again stopped.
That after the caucus of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union rejected the Mediators Recommended Terms that had been delivered last Thursday and tentatively accepted on Friday.
A short news release this afternoon from the ILWU outlined the reasoning behind the rejection. The main concerns related to the length of term of contract from the mediated settlement and what the union states is lack of job protection.
The mediated agreement does not appear to have been put to a larger membership vote.

The workers returned to their picket lines with the 4:30PM shift
The employers who are represented by the British Columbia Marine Employees Association issued their own statement following the announcement of the return to the picket lines.
They observed of the lack of a membership vote, the impact of the livelihood of workers and that of the Canadian economy and supply chain in their response.

So far the Federal Government has not issued a response to the return to the labour disruption.
