City of Prince Rupert Fitness Facility among those Closed owing to Expanded Public Health Orders

The City run Fitness Centre at the Earl May Aquatic Centre
is closed until at least mid January owing to new public
health orders in the province

The latest Public Health Orders from Doctor Bonnie Henry will mean that residents will no longer be able to use the Fitness Facility at the Earl May Aquatic Centre, which means one less option this holiday season to work of some of the excesses of your celebrations.

The details on the closure were relayed by the City Earlier this week.

As per the Provincial Health Order, please be advised that the Fitness Centre will be CLOSED from December 23, 2021 - January 18, 2022.

The new orders have also had an impact on the programs operated at both the Earl May Aquatic Centre and the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.

Doctor Henry ordered the closure of all Gym facilities in the province earlier this week as part of the Provincial response to the increase of the Omicron Variant of COVID-19.

The order has been put in place for both municipal and private run facilities.

The Public health Officer and Health Minister Adrian Dix will review the situation in mid January to determine whether the Closure order will be extended.
