SD52 Superintendent's Message hails achievement in challenging times

With the Class of 2020 at Charles Hays having celebrated their commencement this past weekend, Acting Superintendent of Schools Sandy Jones has taken note of the challenging times that made for this years.

Ms. Jones who returned to her duties earlier this month after the departure of Dr. Irene Lapierre, took note of the way that the COVID pandemic has changed the world for the students, parents and staff members of the District, thanking them for "navigating the new normal".

She also congratulates the graduates for 2020 and highlights the celebration of Friday which was a Virtual Commencement filmed over the course of a week by Lonnie Wishart and now available for review on the CityWest Community Television Facebook page.

While the school year is quickly wrapping up, there is one more graduation set to take place as the students of Pacific Coast School bring their studies with SD52 to an end next week at Mariner's Park should the weather permit. With a two stage event the fall back plan if the weather doesn't cooperate.

The Acting Superintendent also offered congratulations to the graduate from the Hartley Bay School who is now ready for the next challenges ahead.

You can review the full letter to students and parents from the SD52 website.
