What could be another short night for Prince Rupert City Council is possibly telegraphed by tonight's Agenda for the evening, with only four items of note listed for the list of items for review from the city's elected officials.
Two of the topic pieces will be those of reports from the City's Chief Financial Officer, as Corinne Bomben provides a tutorial on the Home Ownership Grant process, as well as to relay some of the highlights for the 2019 Annual Report.
Two Variance reports from the City Manager also make for the night's to do list.
As it is the last meeting for the month, it is also Committee of the Whole evening.
Council has modified how the Committee of the Whole community engagement process will look during this period of pandemic and recovery.
With no public attendance yet allowed for the Council session, those with questions, concerns or comments for tonight's gathering can submit them to Corporate Administrator Rosa Miller in writing or, by way of telephone message for relay at tonight's meeting.
How to access Ms. Miller to make your contribution is explained here.
Council members will also continue to make use of the Closed Council process this evening, as they meet tonight in a Special Closed Session at 5PM citing two items from the Community Charter as the reason to exclude the public.
90.1 (c) labour relations or other employee relations; and,
(e) the acquisition, disposition or expropriation of land or improvements if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality
Tonight's Closed session will mark the eighth time that Council has hosted a public excluded session so far this year.
You can review the notes of the Agenda Package for tonight here.
