Latest Job Opportunity with City of Prince Rupert highlights ongoing quest for Lifeguards

The City of Prince Rupert Recreation Department continues its search
for lifeguards as they look to fill gaps and keep the facility open
as much as possible through the year

In what seems to be almost a permanent Job Opportunity with the City of Prince Rupert, the Earl Mah Aquatic Centre is on the search fo fill some  Lifeguard Instructor positions, with both full time and part opportunities noted as available in the City's Job Posting.

The latest opportunities for employment with the City have an application deadline of January 14th, 2020.

The City has faced a significant challenge in filling those positions over the last number of months, with the Earl Mah Aquatic Centre often closed, or working on a reduced schedule owing to the lack of qualified lifeguards available to cover all of the shifts that the city has for the popular civic centre activities at the Pool.

The recreation Centre's David Geronazzo was  a featured interview subject earlier this month, speaking to some of the challenges being found across the Northwest in an interview with Daybreak North's Carolina de Ryk.

With the City's Director of Recreation and Community Services making note of how a number of positions both full time and casual remain open in the community and what are the causes for the ongoing struggle to till the positions.

You can access the updated schedule for the Earl Mah Aquatic Centre from the Recreation Department's Facebook page.
