Mayor Brain is on Team Bachrach when it comes to the NDP nomination in Skeena-BulkleyValley |
Mr. Brain made public his preference clear in a Facebook post of Tuesday, making note of their shared time together as municipal leaders and how his leadership qualities and willingness to work collaboratively with people that would serve him well in the Federal political environment.
After working with Taylor for the past 5 years, and experiencing the ins and outs of how the business of politics operates, it’s my personal belief that it’s not so much about the party - it’s about the person, their values, and how they conduct themselves in high stress positions.
Politics is a tough business no matter how you slice it, and now more than ever we need principled leaders who have the internal discipline to be calm, patient and humble while striving to understand and reflect the diverse range of views of the people they represent.
Smithers Mayor and NDP nomination candidate Taylor Bachrach |
It’s not that I disagree with other candidates in the region - it’s that Taylor has proven leadership and personality qualities that I respect and trust - and I believe that those traits are the most important things a leader can have in order to do this type of work long term.
